There’s not very much to report this month – things have been rolling on, but there have been few breakthrough moments.

We’re still waiting to hear back about the writing panels we submitted for Scotiacon, while we have now submitted our proposals for CFz too. Hopefully, we can run some engaging events that will provide useful insights. I do enjoy running panels, no matter how scary it is to speak in front of an audience, and I hope I can impart useful advice. I’m still quite new to this publishing lark, but I hope I can help.

I have written the first draft of a new short story this month, which I’m hoping to have submitted tomorrow. I’ve also been asked to contribute to another anthology, so this will likely be my focus for December. Meanwhile, I’ve had one rejection this month, which is a bit of a downer. The story didn’t quite fit with the other stories in their collection, which is fair enough. This happens quite often – you just have to pick yourself up and dust yourself off.

SoFurry is still down and it’s still not clear when it will be back. It’s been nearly five months now and I fear the community may have moved on. It was the best site for furry writing by a long way and I’m hoping it will become so again, but I am starting to get a little concerned.

November has also been a reflective time as it marks the first anniversary of me becoming a freelancer. Since then, I have taken on a few publishing clients and have realised that this is what I’d like to do full-time. While I’ll happily accept marketing clients as I still need to make ends meet, I’m going to focus more on editorial roles going forward. To this end, if you are looking for an editor or know someone who is, please let me know.

I’ve been reading my copy of The Wideness of the World ahead of its official release next month and have enjoyed all of the stories thus far. There are brilliant tales in here and I highly recommend picking up a copy.
