It has been a very busy month, with a few projects in their final stages.
The first is the fourth volume of the Furry Historical Fiction Society, The Wideness of the World. This will be released on 13 December, but it will be available at MFF the week before.
I have a story included in an FHFS collection for the first time and I’m incredibly excited and honoured to feature alongside some of the best authors in the fandom.
‘Back to the Molly House’ is set in London in 1726. The Society for the Reformation of Manners is in the ascendancy and Hooke knows he must keep his relationship with Rufford discreet. But when the fox gets caught cruising on The Sodomites’ Walk, can their love survive the tyranny of the age? You can pre-order The Wideness of the World here.
The second is a story for a horror-themed anthology called The Howling Dead Vol. 2, which should be coming out soon through Bewere Books. I have been doing the final proofreading for this and I’m looking forward to its release. ‘The Dying Day Was Still’ features a pandemic, zombies, and a young vixen trying to work out what happened to her husband.
The third is a story that will be released in February in Incision Press‘s Monsterfuck anthology. ‘La Fin de la Fée Verte’ follows the story of a Parisian savant indulging in a tryst with the Green Fairy. Suffice to say, it’s explicit.
Earlier in the month, my story ‘Votive’ featured on The Voice of Dog as part of their Ghost of Dog series. Ta’kom Ironhoof did a fantastic narration, so please go and have a listen. I am delighted with how well Votive has been received and hope you enjoy it too. Again, this one is for adults only.
I have been liaising with my friend Huskyteer on some writing panels we would like to run at both Scotiacon and ConFuzzled next year. We have submitted the panels for the former, while we’re still thrashing through what we’d like to do for the latter. This year’s ConFuzzled had 11 in total and we’d like to do even more in 2026.
It has been four months since SoFurry was taken offline and we still don’t know when it’s coming back. It was always the best site for furry fiction, but with FurAffinity improving of late, maybe things will change. I do hope it comes back soon though and that it’s still a good site for writers. I haven’t really written any stories to publish there in the interim, but hope to pick this up again as we head towards Christmas.
Finally, I’ve had little opportunity to read this month on account of me doing a lot of editing work for Fenris Publishing (there is some very good stuff to come). I do have one recommendation though and I hope to read more in November.
