February 2026 Update – A Rather Quiet Month

Categories:

It has been a quiet month regarding writing as I’ve attended two furry cons and have been visiting friends and family in the UK.

The Scotiacon panels I ran with Huskyteer were both well received. The Writers’ Social is always a good opportunity to meet fellow authors and chat about our projects and influences. Meanwhile, the Writing Historical Fiction panel took a more traditional format as Huskyteer and I discussed our historical-themed works. We got some engaging questions from the audience and I hope we imparted some useful knowledge. I think Huskyteer and I work well together and I’m looking forward to presenting more panels with her in the future.

I had a story accepted into an anthology at the start of the month, halting the recent run of rejections. This has boosted my confidence a little and I am looking forward to seeing it in print in the Spring. I have also been working on the final edits of a story that had already been accepted and which will hopefully be released later this year too.

This month was the 300th anniversary of the raid on Mother Clap’s Molly House in London. This was the biggest clampdown on the gay community at the time and forms the cornerstone of both ‘1725’ and ‘Back to the Molly House’. I thought I’d write a little about what happened, what we can learn today, and highlight some of the primary sources I used for those two stories.

I’m hoping to get back to writing more in March as I have two short stories to finish by the end of April, plus a third one I haven’t yet started. I’m also hoping to get the travel book to a state where I can resubmit based on the initial feedback I received.

Aside from that, I’ve spruced up the website a little and added a Friends section too. This highlights some of my favourite furry authors and where to find them. Please go and take a look. Meanwhile, if we are mutuals and you’d like to be included, please drop me a message and I’ll add you.
