The nominations for the 2025 Ursa Major Awards are now open and will run from today through to 5 February.
2025 was the biggest year yet regarding my own furry publishing and I have two eligible stories for the Best Short Fiction category. They are:
‘Back to the Molly House’ in The Wideness of the World
‘Would?’ in Wild Hearts
If you have read and enjoyed either of these stories, it would be fantastic if you could nominate them for an Ursa Major award. Similarly, if you enjoyed the anthologies in which they feature, you can nominate those in the Best General Literary Work category.
Meanwhile, any of my stories that have featured on The Voice of Dog podcast this year (Votive and Scooped Up) would also be eligible.
There are also two new categories for the Ursa Majors this year – Furry Streamers and Classic Anthro Video Games – alongside all of the usual categories.
There were loads of fantastic novels, short stories and comics released in 2025 and choosing my own nominations will be tough.
Awards like the Ursa Majors are a great opportunity to show appreciation to your favourite furry writers, so please go and nominate their stories, novels, comics, and websites. Knowing our tales are appreciated really keeps us motivated during those long evenings when we are battling writers’ block, syntax, and social media distractions.
