Friends

The furry fandom is full of fantastic writers, many of whom I’m fortunate to call friends. These are some of my favourite authors in our community.

Shiloh Skye – As well as writing himself, Shiloh also reviews novels and anthologies. He presents regular talks on the latest furry releases at U.S. cons including MFF, Anthrocon, and FurSquared.

Huskyteer – My partner in crime – when it comes to presenting writing panels at UK furry cons at least – Huskyteer has been authoring furry stories for over a decade. She has just published an anthology of some of her favourites, The Analog Cat. She is a two-time Ursa Major winner, a two-time Cóyotl Award winner, while she has won a Leo Award too. She also likes huskies, vintage airplanes, and motorbikes.

Scribbles Chee – Scribbles gave me my break in furry publishing when accepting ‘1725’ for the Happy Howlidays anthology in 2022. They oversee a number of other furry anthologies too, including The Howling Dead and the forthcoming Rho Iota Phi. Their website is full of writing tips, musings about furry fiction, and horror-related influences.

NightEyes DaySpring – One of my favourite furry writers, NightEyes DaySpring writes poetry, short stories, and full-length novels. The Blood of Life is his latest work while his debut book The Scars of the Golden Dancer won the Cóyotl Award in 2022 for Best Novel.

Utunu – Writer of the incredible Rafts, Utunu’s latest novels are Far Flung and Tethers Torn, which focus on the psionic powers of three friends, Bori, Tuther, and Samna. Far Flung won the 2024 Cóyotl Award for Best Novel, with Rafts winning Best Novella in 2023.
