The fourth volume of the highly-acclaimed series of anthologies from the Furry Historical Fictional Society has been published and I have a story featured for the first time.

‘Back to the Molly House’ has been two years in the making, with the original first draft having been written in January 2024. Since then, it’s gone through numerous iterations and I’m delighted it will now see the light of day. I must thank all of my beta readers, whose generous feedback helped improve this story considerably.

Published by Transcendent Fiction Publishing, The Wideness of the World contains 17 stories set from around 1500 to the French Revolution in 1789. Split into three sections, the stories focus on the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, and the Age of Exploration. Mine sits firmly in the Enlightenment.

Set in London in early 1726, ‘Back to the Molly House’ continues on from ‘1725’, which was published in the Happy Howlidays anthology. With the Society for the Reformation of Manners in full force, the authorities are clamping down on ‘Sodomites’, with numerous arrests and show trials.

In the midst of this febrile atmosphere, the Molly House is the only safe place to be. And yet, these too are being raided regularly. After nearly being caught before, Hooke knows he needs to keep his relationship with Rufford quiet. However, the young fox yearns for more and when he’s caught indulging himself on The Sodomites’ Walk, he is thrown into the maelstrom of the age. Will his relationship with Hooke survive?
